Transitional Kitchen Update

Project location:
Leawood, Kansas

Style:
Classic Transitional

Special parts of the project:

This ranch home was looking to update the kitchen and brighten up the space.  We presented a plan to the client that would allow for a classic overall styling that would keep in line with the feel of the home.  We started by repainting the surrounding outer cabinets in a Dover White.  We then decided to pop in a dramatic navy blue onto the island to really make this piece stand out from the rest of the kitchen.  Next we removed a set of upper cabinets located to the right of the the pantry and replaced them with floating wood shelves to open up the space.  These open shelves not only give the client a space to display various collectibles, they also gave us the opportunity to tie in the two colors of the cabinets.  We chose a stunning navy and white linear mosaic tile to be the backdrop to the floating shelves.    The counter tops were then replaced with a beautiful pearl white quartz that just makes the mosaic back splash pop.  Lastly, we removed the original pendants and replaced them with clear glass globe pendants, keeping your line of sight from the front door clearly open to the back wall of the kitchen.
