Transitional Kitchen Remodel
To open up the kitchen to the living room
Special parts of the project:
This home was renovated to create an overall open concept between Kitchen and Living room. We removed the wall between the kitchen and the living room and installed a large steel beam to span the opening. The main focus of this kitchen was the back wall and island. The back wall included a large hood with floating shelves and the island was over-sized. We wanted to create an area for everyone to gather around in the kitchen and this piece is definitely it. The island top is an amazing custom slab of granite unlike any others that sits atop a beautiful slate blue island. The slate blue is also accented on the custom hood which just pops off the geometric white tile back splash. The clients also wanted a continuous floor that would now bring the kitchen and family together creating one large open space. Lastly, we wrapped the newly installed header with hand scraped wood plank flooring to create definition and drama between the two rooms.
